A free health day for your community.
A nutrition talk, a quick nutrition scan, and a friendly conversation about nutrition in later life. We bring everything. You provide the lounge.
- No cost and no obligation for your community
- A free nutrition scan is available on the day to any residents wishing to know their inner nutrition score
- One lounge, one afternoon: a talk, scans and conversations in a single event
Prefer to talk it through first? Book a 30-minute planning call.

One lounge, one afternoon, almost nothing for your team to do.
A typical health day runs as a single event in a space you already have. Here is what happens, and what we need from you.
- 130-40 minutes
The talk
A relaxed, jargon-free talk in your community lounge about nutrition in later life: what the body needs, why it matters, and the everyday changes that make a difference. Questions are welcome throughout.
- 21-2 hours
The scans
Residents who would like one can be scanned, about 3-5 minutes each including a chat. A fingertip rests on the scanner and the reading takes seconds. Anyone who would rather just watch is just as welcome.
- 3During the scans
The conversation
Each person sees their own inner nutrition score and has time for a friendly one-to-one chat about it, including options for anyone who would like to make a change for a better score. A copy of the scan results, including recommendations, can optionally be sent to the resident by email if they wish. Residents should have their email address handy if they would like to take this option.
- 4Afterwards
Follow-up on request
Residents who want to carry on the conversation can ask us afterwards. If your community would like us back, then for those inspired by the session to make some adjustments to their diet or lifestyle, a re-scan is a natural way to see how things have improved from the changes they’ve made.

A free day that gives residents something real, and gives you something to talk about.
Three reasons managers and activities teams say yes.
Something real for the activities calendar
A ready-made event that needs no budget line, no speaker to book and no kit to hire. Residents get a talk, something hands-on to try and time to chat, and your team gets a day it does not have to build. Nutrition and Hydration Week, 15-21 March 2027, is a natural date to build around, but any time of the year is a great time to talk about better nutrition!
Nutrition and Hydration Week dates →A reason for residents to get together
Living in a retirement community does not make friendships happen on its own, and meals eaten alone are linked in research with poorer diet quality in older adults. A shared talk, a queue for a scan and a conversation afterwards is the kind of low-pressure occasion that gets neighbours chatting.
Eating alone and nutrition in older adults →A subject that matters in later life
Appetite, absorption and eating habits change with age, and many older adults fall short on some nutrients. A short, friendly session gives residents practical ideas they can use at their own pace, and a number to start the conversation with.
All sources and caveats →14%
of 335 sheltered housing tenants screened in England were at medium or high risk of malnutrition (BAPEN, 2009)
Under 15%
of 256 UK adults aged 65-89 in one food-diary study met an older-adult protein target of 1.2 g per kg a day
About half
the loneliness of the wider community was reported by village residents in one operator-funded study (ILC-UK, 2015); independent findings are more mixed
These figures come from published studies of different groups and dates. They are context, not a measure of any one community. Details and caveats are on the sources page.
The answers a careful manager needs, up front.
You are responsible for your residents, so we keep this plain and simple.
Opt-in, always
Nobody is scanned unless they choose to be. Consent is taken in the scanner’s own app, and residents are free to watch, ask questions or leave at any point.
Not medical advice
The scanner is a wellness tool. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition, and it does not replace a GP. We point anyone with a health concern back to their GP.
Handled properly
A resident can ask for an emailed copy of their results and recommendations. Only then are their name, email and scan result kept. If they do not ask, nothing about them is kept. Nu Skin and Success Solutions Ltd are both data controllers; the privacy notice explains who holds what.
Insured
We carry £10 million of public liability insurance, and we are happy to send the certificate to your office.
Open about who we are
We are an independent Nu Skin affiliate partner, and the scanner is made by Pharmanex, a division of Nu Skin. Nu Skin’s Prysm Certified supplements and multivitamins are backed by a money-back guarantee if your score has not improved after 90-100 days (terms apply). Any resident who would like to talk through ways to improve their score, including a subscription to one or more of our supplements, can discuss the options with us after their scan or at any time after the event.

A nutrition scanner that gives each person their own inner nutrition score.
It is a non-invasive scanner that measures skin carotenoids, a proven marker of antioxidant status, in just seconds. It is fast and needle-free: a fingertip rests on the scanner and the score appears.
The score tends to rise with more antioxidant-rich nutrition and to fall with higher levels of oxidative stress, so it gives each person a simple, personal starting point for a conversation and a way to see change over time.
The scanner is made by Pharmanex, a division of Nu Skin, and scanning technology of this kind has been in use for over 20 years. It is not a medical test and says nothing about any specific condition.
Read the sources →A wellbeing story you can tell residents, families and prospective buyers.
One health day gives you something specific to say about how your community looks after people, in the places you already say it.
Residents’ newsletter and noticeboard
A simple, positive item for the next issue, with a leaflet ready to pin up.
Families
Something concrete to mention in family updates: a community that makes time for wellbeing.
Viewings and open days
Prospective residents like to see a living, active community. A health day on the calendar is part of that picture.
A calendar anchor
Build a month of activity around it, or pair it with Nutrition and Hydration Week (15-21 March 2027) if the timing suits. Any time of year works.
Questions managers ask before saying yes.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The health day is free and there is no obligation, whether you go ahead once, more than once or not at all.
How long does a day take, and how many residents can be scanned?
Plan for a talk of about 30-40 minutes followed by 1-2 hours of scans. Each scan and chat takes about 3-5 minutes, and we bring multiple scanners and scanner operators so several residents can be scanned at the same time. That means a good turnout does not make for a long wait, and any resident can simply watch.
What do you need from us?
A date at least 4 weeks ahead, a room such as your lounge with a TV or projector and enough seats for the residents attending, and a note in the activities calendar and on the noticeboard so residents know it is happening. Some refreshments always go down well, if you can. We bring everything else.
Who runs it?
Darren Ferneyhough leads the day. Our colleague Daniel sometimes travels to join in.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry £10 million of public liability insurance and can send the certificate on request.
How is consent handled?
Consent is taken in the scanner’s own app before anyone is scanned. Residents can say no, watch only, or leave at any time without giving a reason.
What happens to residents’ information?
A resident can ask for an emailed copy of their results and recommendations. If they do, their name, email and scan result are kept; if they do not, no personal information is kept. Nu Skin and Success Solutions Ltd are both data controllers. The privacy notice has the detail.
Is the scan a medical test?
No. It is a wellness tool that gives a personal nutrition score. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition and is not a substitute for a GP. Anyone with a health concern is pointed to their GP.
Can residents with limited mobility or dexterity take part?
The scan is a fingertip resting on the scanner, so it can usually be done seated. If you have particular access needs in mind, tell us when you enquire and we will plan around them.
Do residents need a smartphone?
No. We operate the scanner, and residents do not need a phone or an app. An emailed copy of results is optional.
Are you selling anything?
We are an independent Nu Skin affiliate partner, and the scanner is made by Pharmanex, a division of Nu Skin. Nu Skin’s Prysm Certified supplements and multivitamins are backed by a money-back guarantee if your score has not improved after 90-100 days (terms apply). Any resident who would like to talk through ways to improve their score, including a subscription to one or more of our supplements, can discuss the options with us after their scan or at any time after the event.
Where do you travel?
Anywhere in the UK. Because we plan each trip around other events, we ask for at least 4 weeks’ notice. Tell us your preferred timing when you enquire and we will agree dates with you.
Can you come back?
Yes. If your community would like another day, or a re-scan to see how scores have improved, just ask.
Tell us about your community.
A few details are all we need. There is no cost and no obligation, and we will reply personally to talk through dates and what would suit your residents.
